Son of Edward and Bertha Blanche Smith. He was killed in the naval battle of Crete. He was born 5 December 1920 in Morecambe. In 1921 he was living at Yealand Redmayne with his parents Edward (23) Bertha (21) and his grandparents Moses Hodgson (59) Jane (59) and his uncles Thomas Garnett (25), Harold Edward (23) and Frank Bruman (19)
