Private 240291 King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment 8th Battalion.
Military records showed that he lived at 61 North road with his wife Jennie also called Jane. The 1911 census shows that he was born in Carlisle and was living at 3 Shield Court Currock St, Carlisle with his mother Elizabeth (58) and his siblings John Joseph (32) Robert Humphries (27) and Daniel George (21). His occupation was a number catcher which was a job on the railways.
