The 1921 census shows him living in Warton, Carnforth with his parentsWilliam (occupation railway goods guard) and Gladys Lawson and his brothers George Harold (2 yrs old) and Albert William (1 year old). He was born on 20 December 1920 and was killed in Burma (now Myanmar). His brother Albert was born on 13 July 1919. His occupation before he signed up was railway wagon guard and in 1939 he was living at 4 Grosvenor Place, Carnforth with his parents and Albert.
