Second Lieutenant King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment 1st and 5th Battalion.
Gerald was born 14 July 1883 in Leeds, Yorkshire 3rd son of the late Alfred Samuel Kirk of Greenwood Leghe, Ingleton, Yorkshire and his 2nd wife Isabella Ann nee Balderstone.
He married Sarah Ann Capstick on 21 April 1909 at Casterton near Kirby Lonsdale, Yorkshire.
