“Edwin, a negro boy, servant to Mr Law of the Island of Barbados, baptised at Mr Bishop’s of Yealand on Sunday evening about 13 years old”
The name Law occurs in connection with the Lancaster slave trade in the eighteenth century (Melinda Elder, The Slave Trade and the Economic Development of 18th Century Lancaster, 192 p.214) but who was Mr Bishop? Does anyone know?
